Two citizens from the Czech Republic were arrested in Desenzano del Garda thanks to the intervention of an off-duty police officer, who recognized one of them as a suspected perpetrator of an armed robbery that occurred at a Penny supermarket earlier this month. The officer promptly alerted the operations center and pursued the suspects’ vehicle until the Flying Squad intervened, identifying the two men at a local Bed & Breakfast. The 27-year-old was charged with armed robbery and assault, while his 25-year-old accomplice, who has a criminal record, was arrested for possession of forged documents. During the checks, officers discovered identity documents and a counterfeit driver’s license, which the two had purchased for 500 euros. Following these events, the Chief of Police in Brescia issued a mandatory expulsion order for both, prohibiting their return to the municipality of Desenzano del Garda for three years. Violating this order could result in a sentence of up to 18 months in prison and a fine of 10,000 euros. Italian Version
