An important discovery has taken place in Brescia, where the archive of the company that supplied Botticino marble for the construction of the Altare della Patria has been found. The documentation, consisting of over a thousand pieces including photographs, drawings, and historical sketches, has been donated to the National Museum of Patriotic History in Rezzato as part of the initiative “Donate, Don’t Discard, War Relics.” Among the documents are signatures from renowned architects and artists of the time, highlighting the significance of Botticino marble in the construction of important works both in Italy and abroad. The recovered papers include details on various iconic projects such as the Palace of Justice in Rome and significant international commissions. This historical-documentary heritage provides valuable testimony to the Wars of Independence and the contribution of Brescia to the creation of the Vittoriano. The Museum invites anyone who possesses relics related to this period to contact them for further donations. Italian Version
