Clusane triumphs at the Palio delle Bisse, setting a record for rowing victories. On Saturday evening, the 57th edition of the Palio delle Bisse took place, where the crew from Clusane d’Iseo secured their 14th victory, surpassing Garda, which previously held the record with 13 wins. The team, consisting of Cesare Bosio, Gianluca Cancelli, Stefano Bracchi, and Marcello Ferrari, showcased remarkable skill and determination during the competition. Despite Garda’s attempt to obstruct the winners’ path in the final race, Clusane emerged victorious.
Marco Fava, president of the Garda Bisse League, highlighted that this edition saw a limited number of participants but remains hopeful for a revival of the movement in the coming year. Positive signs are emerging from the increasing interest among young rowers and artisans eager to learn the craft of bisse construction. The hope is to see a new generation ready to revitalize this local tradition in the future.
