A fire broke out at the Fedrigoni Paper Mill in Riva del Garda on the morning of Thursday, November 27, with flames emerging from the attic of the facility. The immediate response of around 50 firefighters allowed the blaze to be brought under control within a few hours, preventing the flames from spreading to other areas of the plant and ensuring the safety of the workers. One person was rescued and transported to the hospital in Arco for checks, but their condition is not serious. Currently, environmental monitoring activities are underway, with technical inspections being conducted to assess the effects on air, water, and dust. The provincial agency for environmental protection is analyzing the samples collected, and data from monitoring stations have shown no concerning levels. In the afternoon, the president of the Autonomous Province of Trento conducted an inspection at the facility alongside Fedrigoni executives and fire service officials, emphasizing the effectiveness of the responders’ actions.
