The flu vaccination campaign for the 2025/26 season will kick off on October 1st in Lombardy, aimed at ensuring increasingly effective public health protection. This new initiative includes a record procurement of over 2.7 million doses, compared to over 2 million administered in the previous season, which saw a significant increase in vaccination coverage among the most vulnerable groups. Vaccinations will begin on October 1st for at-risk individuals, such as the elderly and healthcare workers, while from October 13th, they will be available for free to the entire population. Alongside the flu campaign, immunization against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) will also be launched, targeting children born from April 1, 2025, with 65,000 doses of the Beyfortus vaccine available. Welfare Councillor Guido Bertolaso emphasized the importance of this initiative as part of a continuous commitment to public health, highlighting the extensive network of doctors and facilities involved in the vaccination process.
