Garda Region Scam: Fake Carabinieri Offer Unrelated Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
