Legambiente and the European project LIFE NatConnect2030 have launched a photography competition titled “My Biodiverse Garden,” aimed at promoting biodiversity in private green spaces. The initiative, open to all adults residing in Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, and the Autonomous Province of Trento, will take place from July 7 to August 31, 2025. Participants can submit up to two photographs showcasing biodiversity in their gardens, balconies, or terraces, with prizes including biodiversity care kits.
The goal of the competition is to raise awareness about ecological connections and the active role of citizens in protecting nature. Simona Colombo, project coordinator for Legambiente Lombardy, emphasized the importance of gathering visual testimonies that highlight the ecological value of green spaces even in urbanized contexts. The jury will evaluate the submitted images and reward the best shots with useful items for promoting biodiversity.
