Montichiari Summer Events: Music, Beauty, and Cultural Festivals
Events with music and beauty will animate Montichiari in July. The festivities begin today at 9 p.m. within the setting of Castello Bonoris, with a concert evening.
Organized by the Accademia musicale monteclarense and Scuola d’Archi «Pellegrino da Montechiaro», the concert is sponsored by the municipal administration and is part of the summer program. The main performers are pianist Lino Franceschetti, double bassist Mauro Sereno, and drummer Massimiliano Savioli.
This well-established ensemble consists of performers with diverse musical backgrounds: from jazz in all its many variants to classical music, passing through light melodies of the twentieth century.
Program and Themes of the Concert
The concert lineup, titled «From Bach to Gershwin», includes pieces from various traditions: from Duke Ellington’s jazz to swing arrangements of Bach’s «The Well-Tempered Clavier»; from «Tu che m’hai preso il cuor» by Lear to «L’amore è una cosa meravigliosa»; all presented with notable virtuosity.
And what about beauty? It will make its debut in the upcoming days, with a Miss Italy contest stage that features – an unprecedented event – the election of Miss Montichiari.
Subsequent Events and Festivals
But let’s proceed in order. Next Saturday, again in the park of Castello Bonoris and starting at 9 p.m., the musical association Franco Margola will present «The Inalterable Honey – Female Voices of Modern Poetry», which features works by Dickinson, Yourcenar, and Plath, accompanied by brief musical pieces.
July will conclude with four special evenings: on Wednesday the 25th in Piazza Garibaldi, the Cantalago, featuring the Miss Italy selection phase and a Miss Montichiari event; on Friday the 27th, at Castello Bonoris, the cultural association il Nodo will present William Shakespeare’s «The Merry Wives of Windsor».
On Saturday the 28th, again at the castle, «Symbol & Symbol» will showcase numerous Ferrari models in Piazza Garibaldi. The next day, following the merchants’ festival (from 5 p.m.), and at 9 p.m., the theater continues: il Nodo will present Shakespeare’s «Macbeth» in the park of Bonoris.
