Closure of SP 9 Gargnano–Valvestino: circulation halted for one month. Starting this morning, Monday, September 22, a temporary closure of Provincial Road 9 has been implemented on the stretch connecting Gargnano to Magasa. This measure is necessary to allow for safety improvement works on the route, coordinated by the Roads Sector of the Province of Brescia. The interventions aim to stabilize the hillside and restore the road surface, which was compromised by a landslide that occurred last year due to heavy rainfall. The area is further vulnerable following the fire in June 2021, which damaged the Dos dei Sas forest. The works will involve the opening of two simultaneous construction sites, with specialized rock climbers present to install nets and rockfall barriers, in addition to reconstructing the damaged road segment. The closure to traffic, applicable in both directions, affects the segment between km 10+500 and km 19+000 in the municipalities of Gargnano and Valvestino. To ensure user safety, a speed limit of 30 km/h has been imposed along with a no-overtaking restriction in the sections adjacent to the closed area.
