Scammers Impersonate Authorities Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would not make themselves visible anymore.
