Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately alert the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, if they had money, is no longer visible.
