A theft was thwarted at the “Luigi Marzoli” Arms Museum located in the castle of Brescia, where a valuable 17th-century dagger was recovered thanks to the prompt intervention of the State Police. In recent days, officers from the “Flying Squad” arrested a 35-year-old Moldovan citizen, residing in Brescia and with a criminal record, while he was attempting to force open a display case to steal the historical artifact. A report to the emergency number 112 enabled the officers to respond quickly and surround the man, who had placed the stolen item aside while awaiting the police’s arrival. The individual was arrested on charges of aggravated theft of cultural property and was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Additionally, his residence permit was revoked to facilitate a possible expulsion from Italy upon the completion of his detention. Chief of Police Sartori emphasized the importance of collaboration between the community and institutions in ensuring the safety and protection of the local cultural heritage. Italian Version
