Recently, a public meeting was held in Desenzano del Garda on October 13 to discuss changes to the Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) and improve pedestrian safety in the historic center. During the meeting, Councillor Avanzi and Commander Mensi presented a proposal to revise the restricted traffic area, announcing a two-week period to gather feedback from citizens and local businesses. However, the opposition council members expressed concern about delays in implementing the electronic access points, which are deemed essential for ensuring effective control of access and enhancing safety. Councillors Stefano Terzi and Andrea Angelo Palmerini emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue with residents and local businesses to ensure that everyone’s needs are taken into account in the traffic reorganization. They requested clarity on the feedback collected, the planned changes, and the timelines for implementation, hoping that the municipal administration would make bold decisions in the interest of the city. The opposition reiterated the necessity to activate the electronic access points as soon as possible to optimize the work of the local police and ensure greater safety in the heart of the city.
