26th Expo Canina Sees 488 Purebred Dogs and Best in Show Contest

There will be a total of 488 purebred dogs present tomorrow at the 26th edition of the Expo Canina, featuring a large participation of breeds particularly popular with the public (doberman, rottweiler, boxer), but also including less known or “curious” specimens. The event for canine enthusiasts will be held between Parco Lido and Palameeting, where visitors can admire dogs from over one hundred different breeds (including shepherds, defense dogs, retrievers, hunting dogs, greyhounds, companion dogs, and more).

Participation and Judges

>The remarkable presence of Italian and international exhibitors naturally highlights the efforts of the Gruppo cinofilo trentino (Trentino Dog Breeders Group), chaired by Gaetano Turrini, which, together with volunteers and sponsors, has been working for months to prepare this important exhibition.

>Starting at 10 a.m., the dogs will compete in the rings, facing the judgment of judges (7 Italians and 2 Germans), who will assess whether their morphological and behavioral characteristics conform to the official breed standard issued by ENCI.

Afternoon Exhibitions and Awards

>In the afternoon, beginning at 2:30 p.m., there will be a demonstration of cattle-driving dogs (the now-famous Infostrada border collies), trained to guide farm animals according to the trainer’s instructions.

>Following, around 4 p.m., will be the best in show with the proclamation of the “most beautiful dog” of the 26th Expo.
