37-year-old arrested in Caprino Veronese for family mistreatment
A serious incident of domestic abuse occurred in Caprino Veronese, where a 37-year-old man was arrested by the Carabinieri in the late afternoon of Saturday, September 13. He is accused of mistreating his 68-year-old mother, with whom he lived. The intervention of law enforcement was prompted by the man’s over ninety-year-old grandmother, who contacted the operations center for help. The military managed to rescue the woman and initiated investigations, revealing a family environment marked by prolonged verbal and physical violence.
After filing a complaint, the victim was taken to a protected facility thanks to the intervention of the Social Emergency Services of ULSS 9 Scaligera. The 37-year-old, known for his aggressive behavior, displayed hostility towards the Carabinieri during their intervention. The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Verona requested an urgent measure, leading the judge to order his removal from the home and to impose a restraining order preventing him from approaching his mother, establishing a minimum distance of 500 meters. Despite being offered the option of an electronic bracelet to avoid detention, the man refused this measure and is now in custody at the Montorio Prison.
