The underwater photography competition in Maderno saw Juri Vecchi, hailing from Soncino in the province of Cremona, emerge victorious with an extraordinary image of a cold water blenny, captured during a significant clean-up initiative in the local gulf. The event, which recently took place with the active participation of the Municipality of Toscolano Maderno and various associations, including Deep Explorer Onlus led by Angelo Modina, aimed primarily to raise public awareness about the protection of aquatic environments.
The jury, composed of experts in the fields of photography and environmental conservation, selected the image of Salariopsis fluvialitis, also known as Cagnetta or Blenny, for its unique beauty and luminous eyes. This competition not only highlighted the rich local fauna but also brought together enthusiasts and volunteers in a collective effort to preserve the waters of the lake through practical and artistic activities.
