Desenzano fines Dusmann for non-compliant catering service
The Municipality of Desenzano has recently imposed a fine on the company Dusmann, responsible for the catering service, due to a food contamination incident that occurred in April. On June 25, 2025, Dusmann was penalized with a fine of 500 euros after several yogurts served at the Don Mazzolari elementary school in Rivoltella were found to contain green mold, specifically seven packages out of approximately one hundred. The issue had been reported by members of the cafeteria committee, who had previously raised concerns through an urgent inquiry.
Democratic Party councilor Stefano Terzi criticized the administration’s response, which had defended the company by attributing the responsibility to new organic packaging. Although the fine confirms Dusmann’s liability, the councilor expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of communication from the cafeteria committee regarding the penalty. Education Policy Assessor Cristina Degasperi stated that no child had consumed the contaminated yogurts and explained that the issue was caused by an air bubble in just seven packages. She also assured that inspections of the catering service would continue and that further penalties would be imposed if necessary.
