Missing windsurfer in Torbole: search yields no positive results
On Saturday afternoon, searches were initiated for a missing windsurfer in Torbole, an 80-year-old German tourist vacationing in the area. The man’s family raised the alarm after noticing his prolonged absence, concerned about his failure to return from his water activity. The volunteer firefighters from Riva del Garda and the Coast Guard quickly responded, supported by the patrol boat Sperone, which scoured a large stretch of Lake Garda.
Fortunately, the search concluded successfully: it turned out that the elderly windsurfer had already returned to shore on his own, unaware of the operations launched to find him. He was unharmed, and the alert was promptly canceled.
