New resources have been allocated to the sewage collector of the Lake Garda, thanks to an amendment approved in the Infrastructure Decree during the examination by the Environment and Transport Committees of the Chamber. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (Mit) announced that the funds will be used to complete the works on the primary collector, with the aim of redesigning the drainage system for the municipalities on the eastern shore. This intervention aims to decommission the current sub-lake connection, which transfers wastewater from the Brescia shore to the Verona shore, directing it to the wastewater treatment plant located in Peschiera del Garda.
Additionally, a new water supply backbone is planned, designed to connect the distribution networks of the various municipalities along the Verona shore. The main objective of this initiative is to make the system for the supply, treatment, and distribution of drinking water in the area “intermodal,” as it is currently characterized by separate networks.
