A GPL leak alarmed the community of Desenzano on Wednesday afternoon, when flammable liquid was reported leaking from a Keropetrol station near the cemetery. The incident required the immediate intervention of the Fire Brigade, who worked alongside Carabinieri, Police, and Local Police to manage the situation. The leak caused fumes to emanate from some manholes, suggesting a possible breach in the tank. To ensure the safety of the area, surrounding roads were closed.
During the night, the operation to empty the tank was successfully completed, and as scheduled, SP572 on Viale Montecorno was reopened at 7 this morning. Specialized teams from the Fire Brigade’s Nbcr unit monitored the situation to prevent further risks. No injuries or serious damages related to the incident have been reported.
