Salò hosted the 40th Trofeo Salò Sail Meeting, a sailing event that concluded on Sunday, July 13, with an exciting finale characterized by a steady wind of 9 knots. Organized by the Società Canottieri Garda, the event featured 25 boats divided into three classes: Protagonist, Fun, and Meteor. The racecourse was set just off the lakeside dedicated to Giuseppe Zanardelli, where competitors engaged in intense challenges.
The victory of the Trofeo Salò Sail Meeting went to Casper, helmed by Lorenza Mariani, who overcame an uncertain start to secure first place in the Protagonist class. Also on the podium were El Moro and General Lee, both crewed by members of the organizing society. In the Fun class, Wanderfun, skippered by Alberto Azzi, triumphed, while in the Meteor class, Synergos, helmed by Mattia Bustos Battocchio, made a strong debut in this competition. Nicola Benedetti, president of the Società Canottieri Garda Salò, emphasized the historical significance of the event and thanked all participants for the success of the gathering.
