Garda Cycle Path and Hydrogeological Safety: Interventions in Riva del Garda

Defensive works on the rocky walls have been contracted for an amount of 4.8 million euros as part of the Garda Cycle Path, aimed at improving the hydrogeological safety of the area. The project, awarded to the company UNIROCK S.R.L. based in Bolzano, focuses on the western shore of the lake and involves the construction of rockfall barriers spanning approximately 2 kilometers, designed to protect road infrastructure, including the state road 45 bis and the pedestrian and cycling paths currently under construction. The works are expected to be completed within 194 days from the handover of the site.

Additionally, an update has been provided on the progress of the Garda Cycle Path, with the recent completion of the section in Riva del Garda and the technical approval for segment UF 3.4, which extends from the mouth of the Ponale to the Galleria dei Titani. This section has received a favorable opinion for an improvement variant that safeguards the surrounding cliffs. Work continues as scheduled up to the border with Lombardy, while the connection between Riva and Torbole is expected to be completed by 2025.
