Nautical accident in Toscolano Maderno: young man injured by the propeller
A serious boating accident occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, July 17, in Toscolano Maderno, where a 19-year-old German citizen, on vacation with friends, sustained severe injuries after diving from a motorboat moored near the shore. During the dive, the young man came into contact with the propeller of the vessel, resulting in significant injuries to a lower limb that may require partial amputation of his foot.
The alert was immediate, and volunteers from the Garda arrived on the scene with an ambulance, alongside a patrol boat from the Coast Guard. Subsequently, the intervention of an air ambulance from Trento was also requested, which landed at the local sports field to ensure the urgent transfer of the young man to Santa Chiara Hospital under a red code. Although the injured individual’s condition is serious, he does not appear to be in life-threatening danger. The relevant authorities are now investigating the circumstances of the accident to determine any potential liabilities.
