Securing Rock Walls and Garda Cycle Path Progress in Alto Garda
Alto Garda has initiated significant work on the stabilization of rock faces, a crucial intervention for the protection of infrastructure along the western shore of the lake. The Autonomous Province of Trento has assigned the project to Unirock Srl, a company based in Bolzano, with an investment of €4,890,607.59, which includes safety measures. The works will span approximately two kilometers, featuring rockfall barriers and mesh nets, with an expected completion time of 194 days from the handover of the site. The project manager is Engineer Francesco Misdaris.
At the same time, progress continues on the Garda Cycle Path, with recent positive developments for sections UF 2 and UF 3.4. Following the opening of the section in Riva del Garda, technical approval has been granted for the segment from the Orione tunnel to the mouth of the Ponale, and then further south to the Titans tunnel. This last segment has received favorable feedback from the conference of services for an improvement variant that protects the surrounding cliffs. Work is also proceeding as scheduled on the other segments up to the border with Lombardy, while the completion of the Riva del Garda-Torbole stretch is expected by 2025.
