Rescue of Golden Eagle on Mount Spino: Timely Intervention and Hope for Rehabilitation

A wounded golden eagle was rescued yesterday, Saturday the 18th, along the path leading to Monte Spino, in the Fobiola area. The bird, with a fractured wing, was spotted by a hiker who promptly alerted the Provincial Police. Thanks to the intervention of a former police officer residing in the area, the bird of prey was secured and transported to the Wildlife Recovery Center (CRAS) in Valpredina, Cenate (Bergamo), where veterinarians confirmed the fracture.

The eagle, nicknamed “Pigna” by the cyclist who found it, received the necessary care and will be rehabilitated to return to flying in its natural habitat. The managers of the Pirlo Refuge expressed their gratitude for the support received during the rescue and shared the emotions felt in saving this magnificent specimen of wildlife.
