Escape from checkpoint in Arco: unlicensed driver identified
A foreign citizen residing in Trentino was identified by the carabinieri after attempting to flee from a checkpoint while driving without a license. The incident occurred in Arco, where the man tried to blend in with traffic by following another car, but caught the attention of law enforcement. Ignoring the officers’ signal to stop, he suddenly accelerated, initiating a brief chase that ended with him abandoning the vehicle in a parking lot and continuing on foot.
Surveillance cameras captured every movement, and after being identified, the carabinieri tracked him down at his workplace. The driver was fined a total of 5,000 euros for driving without a license, approximately 400 euros for evading the checkpoint, and the administrative seizure of the BMW Series 5, which was found to have an expired inspection. Additionally, the vehicle’s owner, a relative of the fugitive, was fined 250 euros for allowing him to use the car despite his lack of a license.
