An important operational meeting took place in Desenzano del Garda, where representatives from Lombardy, Veneto, and Trentino gathered to discuss the “Garda Unico” project. This initiative aims to promote an integrated approach to enhancing the Lago di Garda, transcending regional boundaries and creating a shared tourism strategy. The Tourism Councillor of the Lombardy Region, Barbara Mazzali, emphasized the importance of attracting sustainable and conscious tourism, focusing on international markets such as those in Northern Europe and North America.
During the meeting, the three regions outlined guidelines for a common programming, with particular attention to expanding target markets. A key element of the project is the role of ‘Navigazione Laghi,’ which manages public water transport. Mazzali highlighted how this network serves as a fundamental infrastructure for sustainable tourist mobility, facilitating access to local villages and attractions while respecting the environment. The “Garda Unico” project thus aims to strengthen the position of Lake Garda as a premier destination in both the national and international tourism landscape.
