Brescia: free museums in August for cultural events
From , the Brescia museums will open their doors for free to all those born or residing in the province, thanks to an initiative promoted by the Municipality and the Brescia Museums Foundation. During this month, visitors will have the opportunity to freely explore significant cultural institutions such as the Santa Giulia Museum, the Tosio Martinengo Pinacoteca, Brixia – the archaeological park of Roman Brescia, the “Luigi Marzoli” Arms Museum, and the “Leonessa d’Italia” Museum of the Italian Risorgimento. The museums will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
This initiative aims to promote access to culture for all Brescia residents and is part of the cultural events that characterize the summer season. In 2024, around 20,000 Brescians took advantage of this opportunity, demonstrating a strong interest in enhancing local heritage. Francesco Tomasini, a city councilor responsible for cultural activities, emphasized that this initiative represents an important step towards the cultural welfare of the community.
