On Friday afternoon, the Brescia State Police arrested a specialized gang involved in aggravated thefts in Lonato del Garda, after monitoring the movements of three foreign nationals already known to law enforcement. The individuals, a 46-year-old Colombian and a 49-year-old Cuban who were illegally residing in the country, along with a 41-year-old Peruvian woman with legal residency, were caught stealing goods valued at over 7,000 euros at the “Il Leone” shopping center. The gang operated using a rental car based in Milan.
After loading various furniture items into the trunk of the vehicle, the three attempted to flee by heading towards Milan on the A4 motorway, but were stopped at the toll booth thanks to the intervention of patrols. During the search, officers discovered perfumes, sunglasses, and other decorative items. The arrested individuals have been charged with aggravated theft for removing anti-theft devices and receiving stolen goods. They are currently being held in the local jail awaiting decisions from the judicial authorities, while investigations continue to identify any accomplices of the gang active throughout Northern Italy.
