Granting of the historic olive grove in Sirmione: call open until 2025
Sirmione: Call for Proposals for the Concession of the Historic Olive Grove of the Grotte di Catullo. The Regional Directorate for Museums of Lombardy has announced the opening of the bidding procedure for the concession of the management service of the historic olive grove, located in the heart of the historic center of Sirmione. This olive grove is an integral part of the archaeological park that includes the Grotte di Catullo and the National Archaeological Museum, and the concession will last until December 31, 2028. This initiative offers a unique opportunity to produce a signature extra virgin olive oil in a captivating setting, within the ancient garden of the Roman villa.
The olive grove, which spans extensive areas of the archaeological site, consists of approximately 1,500 trees of traditional varieties cultivated around Lake Garda, including historic plants dating back 400-500 years. Interested parties can submit their applications by September 15, 2025.
