On the waters of Lake Garda, the summer has seen intensified control activities by the Guardia di Finanza as part of the operation “Securelake 2025.” The naval unit based in Salò has increased surveillance to ensure safe navigation and the regularity of vessels. Among the most common violations recorded are excessive speed, dangerous behaviors near the shore, and vessels lacking the required documentation. So far, out of 87 inspections conducted, 48 irregularities have been found, with total fines exceeding 37,000 euros.
The inspections also included checks on onboard safety equipment, in accordance with current regulations. Those who comply with the rules receive a “blue sticker,” which exempts them from further inspections until the end of the year, encouraging responsible behavior on the water. However, there have also been critical interventions: on four occasions, the Fiamme Gialle provided assistance, rescuing eleven people. The Securelake operation will continue until September, coordinated by the relevant Prefectures and in collaboration with the Coast Guard and other law enforcement agencies to keep the waters of Lake Garda safe for everyone.
