Investigations continue into the mysterious death of Ghansham Singh, a 47-year-old Indian agricultural worker, whose body was found on Thursday morning in the waters of Peschiera del Garda. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death, while a friend who was present at the time of the incident has been placed under investigation for failing to provide assistance. According to local sources, a video obtained by investigators reportedly documents the final moments before Singh’s disappearance and partially corroborates the account provided by the friend, who told the Carabinieri that he had rented a pedal boat with the victim.
The friend claims that both of them ended up in the water after colliding with another vessel, but there is currently no concrete evidence to support this version of events. Investigators are also considering the possibility that the two were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. It has also come to light that Singh did not know how to swim and had a head injury, which has led authorities to conduct the autopsy to assess whether the trauma is related to a potential impact with a boat.
