Theft at luxury resort in Valtenesi: thieves steal gold watch
A significant theft occurred on Tuesday evening at a luxury resort in the Valtenesi, where skilled thieves managed to break into the safe of a room occupied by a tourist from the United Arab Emirates. The criminals made off with cash, valuables, and a gold watch valued at approximately €250,000. The couple returned after dinner to find that the theft had taken place during their absence, noticing that the safe had been opened and its contents missing.
The carabinieri from the Desenzano del Garda Company arrived around midnight to gather testimonies and initiate an investigation. Investigators suspect that the thieves had been monitoring the couple’s movements before acting, taking advantage of the darkness to carry out the theft in just a few minutes. Authorities are reviewing footage from surveillance cameras to identify those responsible and piece together the sequence of events.
