Speed races in Arco: residents demand road safety

Speed Races on the Roads of Alto Garda: Residents’ Reports on the Rise In recent months, concerns regarding illegal speed races have reached alarming levels, negatively impacting the safety of the roads and the peace of the residents of Arco. Recent complaints, reported by the daily newspaper L’Adige, particularly focus on the Prabi district, where Via Caproni Maini has become a critical safety hotspot. Here, during the evening and nighttime hours, vehicles such as scooters and cars speed by recklessly, performing dangerous maneuvers that endanger pedestrians and cyclists.

Citizens have expressed growing concerns and are calling for urgent interventions from local authorities. Among their requests are increased monitoring by the Local Police and the installation of deterrent measures such as speed bumps or cameras to curb speeding. Despite reports already being submitted to the Municipality and the relevant authorities, the problem persists, accompanied by significant disturbances to public peace due to the noise generated by the vehicles involved in the races.
