Security in Desenzano del Garda: proposal for a permanent political table

Recently, Desenzano del Garda has returned to the spotlight due to security concerns following the submission of a council inquiry by the opposition. City councilor Stefano Terzi urged Mayor Guido Malinverno and the Security Assessor to consider establishing a permanent political table dedicated to this issue, citing various incidents of theft, vandalism, and assaults that have affected the city in recent months. In particular, violent events in Piazza Garibaldi and recent acts of “looting” on parked vehicles were highlighted.

Terzi emphasized the importance of a systematic approach to security, expressing gratitude for the work of law enforcement but calling for a more structured commitment from the municipal administration. The proposal for a permanent political table aims to promote constructive dialogue between institutions and law enforcement to ensure an effective strategy for managing urban safety. Marco Profita, secretary of Azione Desenzano, reiterated that the goal is not to create conflict but to enhance livability and urban decorum, stressing that security should be viewed as a shared priority rather than a political battleground.
