Brescian Spit: Roè Volciano Triumphs at Pro Loco Gargnano
The traditional Brescia spit-roasting competition saw the duo of Omar Pozzani from Roè Volciano and Simone Righetti from San Michele di Gardone Riviera emerge victorious, securing first place with a dish prepared to perfection, thanks to impeccable seasoning and flawless cooking. The event, organized by Pro Loco Gargnano, took place on Saturday, August 30, in the district of Navazzo, attracting around 300 participants who had the opportunity to savor the culinary creations of 16 teams from the surrounding villages.
After careful evaluation by the jury, the winners outperformed their competitors, with Gandossi and Bergamini from Gargnano taking second place, while Mirko Morselli and his son Tobia claimed third. Additionally, the award for the best potato went to the duo Baccoli-Franceschini from Roè Volciano, the defending champions. With the excitement still palpable in the air, the next event is already scheduled for 2026, where a new challenge in the name of local gastronomic tradition is anticipated.
