Venice and the Coast Guard: 160 Years of Emotions in Cinema
A significant event took place in Venice on Friday, September 5th at 2 PM, at the Incontri Space of the Excelsior Hotel on the Lido, where the short films “Heroes in White” and “Nereide” were presented. This initiative celebrates the 160th anniversary of the Coast Guard, providing an opportunity to explore through cinema the values and commitment of the women and men who make up this important organization. The screening was a tribute to their dedication, telling stories of courage and passion in a sea of emotions that spans over a century and a half.
The Coast Guard has also been actively serving on Lake Garda since 1999, ensuring safety in the lake waters year-round. This cinematic event not only celebrated the agency’s historical significance but also highlighted its crucial role in safeguarding human life at sea and on land.
