Carabinieri Chase in Lonato del Garda: Stolen Car and Violent Arrest
Two men were involved in an incredible escape in Lonato del Garda in a stolen car, intercepted at dawn on Saturday, September 6, by a patrol of Carabinieri from Desenzano. The officers, engaged in a control operation against predatory crimes, noticed the suspicious behavior of the vehicle. Upon seeing the military, the driver suddenly accelerated, initiating a chase that ended shortly after in the area of Madonna della Scoperta, where the car suffered a tire blowout.
The two occupants attempted to flee on foot, but one of them, a 40-year-old, was caught by the Carabinieri and reacted by attacking the officers. After a brief struggle, he was arrested, and during the search, a balaclava, black gloves, and various burglary tools were found. The man will face charges of violence and resistance to a public official, receiving stolen goods, and unlawful possession of altered keys or lock-picking tools. Investigations are ongoing to identify the second fugitive.
