Toscolano Maderno: rescue of hikers on Mount Pizzocolo
Toscolano Maderno: Evening Rescue Operation on Pizzocolo for Three Hikers On the evening of yesterday, Friday, September 6, a rescue operation was required on Mount Pizzocolo, located in the area of Toscolano Maderno. The technicians from the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of the Valle Sabbia Station were alerted around 9 PM after three hikers reported that they were in difficulty at an altitude of approximately 1,100 meters. Two of the individuals were lost in a rugged area between the mountain ridges, while the third was stranded higher up.
To reach the distressed hikers, a team consisting of three experienced Alpine rescuers was mobilized, supported by the firefighters from the Salò station. The recovery operations proved to be complex due to darkness and challenging terrain, but thanks to the determination of the rescuers, all hikers were located and brought to safety. The operation concluded successfully around 1 AM, with no injuries reported among those involved.
