Lonato and SLA: solidarity that reaches the European Parliament
The conference “Venice–Brussels for ALS” took place on Wednesday, September 10, at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, bringing the voices of ALS patients and the solidarity of Lonato to a European level. The initiative, promoted by MEP Lara Magoni, featured the presentation of a ten-point manifesto highlighting the clinical and social needs of individuals affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and their families. Magoni emphasized the importance of not forgetting the approximately 6,000 ALS patients in Italy, stating that the goal is to raise awareness for those living with this challenging reality.
During the event, Fabrizio Amicabile concluded his solidarity journey by walking approximately 600 kilometers from Venice to Brussels, transforming his trip into a powerful message of hope and strength. The conference also received support from the Lions Club of Lonato, which actively contributed to the cause. Magoni reiterated that the fight against ALS must be approached as a collective challenge by Europe, requiring courage and responsibility to ensure a better future for patients and their families.
