Guardia di Finanza Inspections in Brescia: School Product Safety at Risk
With the start of the school year, the Guardia di Finanza of Brescia has intensified product safety inspections, primarily focusing on stationery items. Between the end of August and the beginning of September, 18 inspections were conducted at stores dedicated to school supplies, all of which were found to be irregular. The operation resulted in the seizure of over 3 million non-compliant items, lacking CE marking and mandatory labeling. The administrative fines imposed amount to over 45,000 euros, with a particular emphasis on protecting students and consumers from potentially dangerous products.
The areas most affected by violations include the city of Brescia and its surrounding areas, as well as some inland regions of Lake Garda. During the inspections, counterfeit stuffed animals were also discovered, leading to the prosecution of two individuals for illegal trade. These activities are part of the broader commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in the fight against counterfeiting and in safeguarding public health, highlighting the importance of product safety in the market.
