During the past weekend, the Local Police of Lonato del Garda conducted extensive road checks to ensure traffic safety. During these operations, officers stopped a vehicle reported as stolen, which had an altered license plate. The driver, who was without documents and attempting to provide false personal details to evade identification, was subsequently identified as a repeat offender and referred to the Judicial Authority for offenses such as receiving stolen goods and false identity. The vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.
On the night of Saturday, September 11, to Sunday, September 12, the checks also focused on driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. In this context, three driving licenses were revoked for driving under the influence, and one for using a mobile phone while driving. Additionally, an administrative seizure of a vehicle was ordered, and numerous fines were issued for violations of the Highway Code. These activities are part of the 2025 road safety plan, aimed at preventing accidents and risky behaviors that threaten public safety through careful monitoring during the most critical hours.
