Provincial Closure in Gargnano for Urgent Road Safety
The Province of Brescia has announced the temporary closure of SP 9 Gargnano-Valvestino-Magasa for one month, starting from 8 AM on Monday, September 22, until 6 PM on Tuesday, October 23. This decision was made to allow for safety and consolidation work on the section between Molino di Bollone and Navazzo, within the territories of the municipalities of Gargnano and Valvestino. During this period, traffic will be prohibited in both directions from km 10+500 to km 19+000.
The intervention involves the use of specialized rock workers and includes the installation of nets and rockfall barriers, as well as the reconstruction of the roadway damaged by a landslide that occurred last year due to heavy rainfall. The area had already been compromised by a fire in June 2021, which made the terrain vulnerable. To ensure road safety, a speed limit of 30 km/h and a no-overtaking rule have been imposed in the sections adjacent to the closure. The areas affected by the works will be under video surveillance throughout the entire duration of the intervention.
