An episode of crime in Moniga has shaken the local community, as a resident found himself face to face with two burglars inside his home. On the night between Saturday and Sunday, the homeowner, alerted by a notification on his smartphone, rushed home while the criminals were ransacking his villa. Armed with a screwdriver, the thieves threatened the man before fleeing with a haul that included jewelry and watches worth thousands of euros. The intervention of the Carabinieri from the Manerba station was prompt, but it did not lead to the capture of the culprits, who had already escaped. The victim reported that the burglars had previously visited the neighbors’ house without causing significant damage. Following the incident, the resident advises everyone to install professional security systems to better protect themselves against similar events in the future.
