Cleaning the bottoms in Gardone Riviera: actions for environmental protection

On Sunday, September 21, **Gardone Riviera** hosted a significant day dedicated to **underwater cleaning**, with the participation of 65 divers from various cities such as Merano, Trento, Bergamo, and Mantova. The initiative, led by Angelo Modina of the Deep Explorers association, uncovered a wide variety of waste from the lake, which will be disposed of in a landfill. During the event, awards were given for the most cumbersome and curious recoveries, including a large steel grate and an old ceramic toilet, highlighting the need to protect the environment and combat uncivil behaviors. In addition to the awards for the most unique waste, the recovered materials were displayed to raise awareness among local elementary school students as part of the “Clean Up the World” initiative by Legambiente. The children had the opportunity to see firsthand the consequences of human actions on the lake ecosystem and actively participated in a waste collection in the surrounding green areas. This initiative represents an important step in the fight for the **protection of the lake environment** and in promoting greater awareness among new generations. Italian Version
