An extraordinary event is set to take place in Riva del Garda with the “Garda Lift on Fire,” a competition that will see firefighters from 14 countries compete in a test of endurance and skill. On Saturday, September 27th, the athletes will tackle a challenging 500-meter course that runs from the central Piazza Tre Novembre to the Venetian Bastion. The route, characterized by 600 uneven steps and inclines reaching 91%, will test the physical strength of the competitors, who must wear full firefighting gear weighing over 25 kilograms. The competition will feature individual starts every 60 seconds and will require participants not only to be fast but also to carefully manage their air supply. In addition to the race, the city center will host the Fire Village, complete with a large screen to follow the performances live, food and wine stands, and family-friendly spaces. Among the new features this year will be Talk Shows on the motorboat Italia dedicated to topics of fire safety and prevention. The day will conclude with live music and DJ sets in the square, celebrating the courage of those who face flames daily to protect the community. Italian Version
