Show Odoardo Tabacchi: Arnaldo from Brescia to Lonato del Garda
The Ugo Da Como Foundation in Lonato del Garda is hosting the exhibition “Arnaldo da Brescia in the Works of Odoardo Tabacchi and Antonio Tagliaferri,” which will run from September 26, 2025 to January 26, 2026. This exhibition, part of the celebrations dedicated to Arnaldo da Brescia, provides an overview of a monument inaugurated in 1882, conceived by the sculptor Odoardo Tabacchi and the architect Antonio Tagliaferri. During the European Heritage Days on September 27 and 28, admission will be free, allowing visitors to discover significant works related to the historical figure of Arnaldo. The exhibition features over 40 testimonies, including documents, photographs, and sculptures, that reconstruct the history of the controversial work commissioned by statesman Giuseppe Zanardelli. Through materials from the Tagliaferri archive and other recent acquisitions, visitors will gain insight into the creative process that led to the creation of the monument to Arnaldo da Brescia, a symbol of the struggle for free thought in the second half of the 19th century.
