Carabinieri Checks in Brescia: Public Safety Under Review

In recent hours, Carabinieri inspections have extensively targeted the Brescia area, with active patrols on the streets and in venues of Brescia, Desenzano, Chiari, and Darfo Boario Terme. Approximately fifty officers, assisted by the Labor Inspectorate, identified around 300 individuals and checked 157 vehicles during an operation aimed at enhancing public safety. Several irregularities emerged during the inspections of public establishments: a bar was fined over 18,000 euros for violations of workplace safety regulations, while a hairdresser faced suspension of operations due to serious health violations. In the criminal sphere, the operation resulted in three arrests for serious offenses such as drug trafficking and resisting a public official. Eight reports were filed for theft and drug possession, while two individuals were referred to the Prefecture for possessing small amounts of narcotics. An irregular North African citizen was taken to the CPR in Milan. Notably, the Carabinieri in Rezzato also conducted an operation that led to the arrest of a 23-year-old involved in the “fake carabiniere” scam, who attempted to deceive an elderly woman under the pretense of inspecting her jewelry.
