Garda Lift on Fire: success for the firefighting competition in Riva del Garda

The third edition of Garda Lift on Fire saw the participation of 273 competitors from 16 nations, including the United States, Canada, and Great Britain, in Riva del Garda. The firefighting competition, organized by the city’s volunteer fire brigade, challenged participants with a demanding course that included steep ascents and over 600 steps. Competitors, equipped with flame-resistant clothing and air tanks, had to complete the course in the shortest time possible without running out of air. Among the most significant results, Slovenian Urban Hafner took first place, followed by Trentino Michele Bettega. In the women’s category, the victory went to Iris Cetto. During the event, a Fire Village was set up, where sponsors and tourists could watch the races on a large screen. The awards ceremony was attended by local authorities such as Mayor Alessio Zanoni and Province President Maurizio Fugatti, who emphasized the importance of the event for the community and the promotion of firefighters’ skills.
