Navigation safety on Lake Garda: operations report 2025
The Coast Guard has concluded Operation Safe Lakes 2025, which began on June 15 and took place on the main Italian lakes, including those in the area. During this initiative, a total of 829 naval missions were carried out, covering over 14,000 nautical miles and ensuring navigation safety. The operational units conducted approximately 3,194 safety checks related to recreational boating and environmental protection, imposing fines amounting to nearly 100,000 euros. In the context of rescue operations, 177 SAR missions were coordinated, leading to the rescue of 393 individuals, along with additional assistance provided to 126 recreational vessels. In the Garda basin, the First Coast Guard Unit reported significant data: 480 missions were conducted, involving 45 personnel and providing assistance to 204 rescued individuals. Furthermore, an informational campaign was implemented through dedicated info points along the most frequented lakeside areas, where specialized staff offered useful advice to swimmers and boaters regarding water safety.
